Some of the many Schweizer sailplanes on the tie-down line belonging to the club or our members. There are 1-26's (5); 1-34's (4) and 1-35's (2) . These gliders were all built by Schweizer Aircraft in Elmira, NY. We also use Schweizer 2-33 two-place gliders for instruction and rides.
After being signed-off to fly solo and having made several solo flights in one of our 2-seat trainers, a Schweizer 1-26, such as "24" shown below would be a students first single place glider.
Our club includes all levels of pilots from students to competition pilots. Examples of high-performance and competition class sailplanes located at the field include the ASW-24, ASW-27, Pegasus and the LS-3 shown below.
