Estimated Costs & Membership Information

The real benefits of club flying come with membership. Club Members have access to all club equipment and instructors. The club is a not-for-profit organization and strives to promote the sport of soaring by providing facilities, equipment and instruction at as affordable rates as possible.

As an example a tow to 2000ft AGL is $25 for members. Rental of a single-place Schweizer 1-26 glider is $22 per hour. Junior member rates are significantly less. There are several levels of membership including full, family and junior.

Important Note: We have experienced a large growth in membership over the last two years. In order to ensure that we maintain an appropriate balance of students : instructors, members : aircraft and aircraft : towing and field capacity there may from time to time be a brief waiting list for membership depending on the type of application - e.g. new primary student, transition student, licensed pilot, glider owner etc. This situation does not happen often butl we would rather you experience a short wait for initial membership than long waits to get to fly as a member.  As a result your overall experience will be more positive and you will be more likely to stay in the sport long term and help us grow and promote soaring overall.
